Announcing Bashful Bloviator Magazine

Starting immediately, listeners to The Forrest Carr Show on Tucson’s PowerTalk 1210 will be able to see much of the source material for what we discuss on the program in one easy location.  The stories will be available daily via Bashful Bloviator Magazine.  Here’s the link.

If you’re not the kind of person who can memorize a string of characters that long (what, really?), you can find the magazine in three other ways.

—  From any search engine (Google, Bing, Yahoo, or whatever is your personal favorite) search the words “The Bashful Bloviator.”  The link for my blog should be the first one that springs up.   Click it.  Now look on the right side of the screen and find the page listings.  Bashful Bloviator Magazine is the top one, right underneath the “Home” button.

or

—  Go to Flipboard.  (To get there, type the word “Flipboard” into your search field or enter flipboard.com into your URL field).   Enter the words “Forrest Carr” in the Flipboard search box.   Click on the picture of the handsome guy that pops up.  The Bashful Bloviator Magazine icon will appear toward the bottom of the resulting screen.

or

—  Go to Flipboard as described above.  Enter the words “Bashful Bloviator Magazine” into the Flipboard search box.  The icon for Bashful Bloviator Magazine should appear toward the bottom of the resulting screen as the only listing in the “Magazine” section.

Note:  the icon picture for the magazine changes frequently, depending on what the cover story is.

Some of the day’s stories will go up before the show, and some will go up that night or the next morning (because I never know how many calls we’ll receive on the radio program, I can’t always be sure we’ll get to every item I have planned).

To see the magazine, you do have to sign up for a Flipboard account if you don’t already have one.  It’s really easy; you can even sign in with your Facebook account if you have one of those.  There’s no catch, no obligation, no cost, no nothing.   The reason they ask you to sign up is that Flipboard will set up a custom news page for you that you’ll see on sign-in, so they need to know the topics you want to read about.

Flipboard is way cool.  A friend of mine recently turned me on to it.  I’m just now exploring it but I’ve already found it’s a very powerful tool for browsing the day’s news.

Reminder for those of you who do not live in Tucson (or if you do but you’re sometimes away from the radio), you can get my radio program via the Internet at this link.  (Alternatively, just Google or Bing “PowerTalk 1210” and you’ll get our station’s web page, which has a streaming link).  Note for those living outside The Grand Canyon State:  Arizona is not like other children; we don’t recognize Daylight Savings Time here.  At this time of year, 5pm corresponds to 5pm Pacific, 6pm Mountain, 7pm Central, and 8pm Eastern.

For those of you who are new to the program and/or are wondering whether there is a method to our madness, PowerTalk 1210 presents non-partisan news, commentary and analysis.  I am a registered independent, and I do it that way so that I can praise or criticize without being judged through the lens of party loyalty.  My personal views are middle-of-the-road, slightly right of center.   I am a veteran journalist.  I do a lot of research for the program every day, and I'll almost always give you the source material for any facts I present.  On my program, as well as the other programs on PowerTalk 1210, all viewpoints are welcome.  Arguments do sometimes get heated (that's half the fun) but no one gets yelled at, insulted, or belittled for their opinions.

Feedback is always welcome.   Here is my contact page.
